We have developed a series of informational guides that detail how to have a meaningful and inclusive discussion in the community around topics associated with the Long Term Planning of the Detroit Works Project.
These guides help to empower our community to become leaders in conversations about our city’s future.
Take a peek at the Ambassador Reference Guide handed out at the Ambassador Training Sessions. The Ambassador Training provides Ambassadors with the information they need to discuss the project, gather the expertise of others, and bring it back so it can be blended with technical analysis being done.
The Planning Awareness Chapters offer a snapshot of the many ways in which urban planning affects our policy decisions, our physical environment, and ultimately, our day-to-day lives.
Chapter One – What is Urban Planning?
Chapter Two – What is Land Use Planning?
Chapter Three – What is Environmental Health?
Chapter Four – What is Public Transit?
Chapter Five – What is Public Utility?
Detroiters’ Working for Environmental Justice (DWEJ) created these videos to raise awareness about the role that a healthy environment plays in creating the city we want to live, work and raise our families in. They are intended to help Detroit residents be more informed about the environment as we engage in the Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning Process.
